Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?
No. You can start the 7-day trial on the Family/Team or Professional plan with just your email address. You will only be asked for payment details if you choose to continue after the trial.
How does Family/Team seat pricing work?
The base price of €5/month includes 2 seats. Each additional seat costs €2/month, up to a maximum of 10 seats. The total is fixed at checkout — you choose your seat count when you subscribe.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe, and PayPal subscriptions. All prices are in Euro (€).
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is yours. You can export your full family tree as a GEDCOM file at any time. If you cancel a paid plan, your account moves to the Individual (Free) tier and your data is retained for 90 days before any media files are removed.
Can I attach photos to my family tree on the free plan?
Yes — during our launch period, free Individual accounts include Image Library access powered by Comad. You can attach and browse photos directly in your family tree at no cost. This is a time-limited offer; we will give advance notice before any change takes effect.
Is Clann suitable for professional genealogists or institutions?
Yes. The Professional plan is designed for individual researchers who need advanced tools and full media library access. For organisations, teams, or institutions requiring custom branding, API access, and SSO, the Enterprise plan is the right fit — contact us to discuss your requirements.
